Blanca Hernández,
Director of Programs & Partnerships

Blanca Hernández (she/her), Director of Programs & Partnerships at YES Nature to Neighborhoods, brings a strengths-based and healing-centered approach to her work, designing culturally responsive, nature-based programs that nurture the leadership of BIPOC youth and adults in Richmond.

She holds a B.A. from the University of San Diego and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Natural Sciences and Environmental Education at Hamline University. Blanca is a proud recipient of Bay Nature Magazine’s 2023 Environmental Education Local Hero Award and the 2024 California 8th Congressional District’s Woman of the Year Award. A passionate advocate for equity in the outdoors, she regularly shares her insights at national and regional gatherings, including the Children & Nature Network Conference, the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE), and in partnership with leaders across the environmental and outdoor equity fields.

Blanca’s leadership extends to serving on various boards and steering committees, including the Association for Environmental & Outdoor Education (AEOE) and TOGETHER Bay Area, where she helps advance social and environmental justice throughout the region.

Her self-care practices include lifelong learning, painting, permaculture, and spending time outdoors with her beloved dogs, Bo and Bella.
