Community Collaborations

YES is dedicated to collective impact that furthers our mission and goals, and we convene and participate in the following collaborative efforts.

  • Contra Costa Together

Contra Costa Together is an emerging effort grown out of California’s Accountable Communities for Health Initiative (CACHI). This grant brought together a diverse collection of community-based organizations, resident leaders, and county systems to form the Contra Costa ACH Stewardship Team. Improving how we work together and encourage others to join in reimagining and co-creating a better future for ALL.

  • Harbour Hall -Community Resilience Center (CRC)

Harbour Hall Community Resilience Center (Harbour Hall - CRC), located at Harbour-8 Park. CRC Project, collectively, our organizations represent the Community Engagement Board (CEB), a team of Project Partners who work together to ensure community members are informed, engaged, and represented throughout the Harbour Hall - CRC Project.

  • Healthy Contra Costa

YES has been a member of Healthy Contra Costa (HCC), formerly known as Healthy Richmond, since 2011. HCC convenes youth and resident leaders, community-based organizations, systems leaders, in the initiative to collectively advocate for policy changes to increase health equity and racial justice in the community.

  • Richmond Park Equity Project (RichPEP)

YES is at the forefront of Richmond’s Park Equity Project (RichPEP), a cross-sector initiative to advance community-driven solutions for park equity. Having run programs and beautification projects in Nicholl Park for the past decade, YES is in the second year of partnership with the City of Richmond, Trust for Public Land, and other nonprofits to improve park conditions.

  • Parks Now

Parks Now is a diverse coalition of California-based organizations and individuals dedicated to increasing access to parks and natural spaces.

We believe that building healthy, thriving communities depends on ensuring equitable access to parks, the coast,
and public lands. We also believe that opportunities to experience and enjoy these places are fundamental to cultivating long-term environmental stewardship. That's why we work to promote investments and policies that
meaningfully improve outdoor access, especially for California's increasingly diverse, urban, and young population.

  • Richmond Outdoors Coalition (ROC)

YES is an active member and the fiscal sponsor of the Richmond Outdoors Coalition (ROC), a group of cross-sector partners that collectively expand equitable access to the outdoors in Richmond, California. ROC’s vision is for Richmond residents to spend more time outdoors, reaping the many benefits related to health and wellness, social justice, youth development/resilience, education, environmental stewardship and the economy.
