YES Resident Leadership Retreat @ Camp CYO

Fri, October 26, 2018

The Resident Leadership Retreat is a partnership between Healthy Richmond, its associated community agencies and YES Nature to Neighborhoods. The retreat is designed to create strong connections between parents, caregivers, family, and community members through story, reflection, and teambuilding. Emerging resident leaders and their families are invited to attend. We hope you will join us!

  • Activities: drumming, art, archery, mindfulness, campfire, hiking, and more!

Empowerment workshops: storytelling, power building, and gaining skills and tools to bring positive change to Richmond schools and neighborhoods through community initiatives in Richmond.

Accommodations: Families will sleep in clean, heated cabins accommodating up to 10-12 people. Some families share cabins with other families, depending on camp capacity.

Food: All food is provided, including snacks. We ask to avoid bringing junk food or sugar-sweetened beverages to promote a healthy environment.

To Qualify: a community agency representative who is part of Healthy Richmond’s Schools & Neighborhoods action team invites emerging resident leaders and their families.

Families may bring up six family members total, including children, on a first come, first served basis. When adults are in workshops, children will participate in activities supervised by veteran volunteers.

All family members should be related and preferably living in the same household.

The minimum age to attend Family Camp is 3 years of age and potty trained.

Parents/guardians must be 21 years or older with one adult attending for every two children on average.

Mandatory orientationThursday, October 18th at 4:30pm at 3105 Macdonald Ave.
